Depew-Lancaster Rivalry 5K!

In the fall of 1919, 100 years ago, one of the longest surviving football rivalries began between the Lancaster Legends and the Depew Wildcats. Locally, Western New Yorkers still consider this to be one ofthe fiercest games around. In fact, in the 1930's the rivalry got so intense that the game had an eight-year hiatus, as fan safety became a concern. Currently, Lancaster leads the series 52-33-6. With this great tradition in mind and the fact that the Depew Wildcats will be hosting the 100th anniversary of this legendary contest at the Frank Costantino Sports Complex - Depew High School on Friday, October 18, 2019; the Depew Alumni, along with the entire Depew SchoolCommunity would like to announce a special 100th Anniversary Rivalry Week Celebration.

The 100th Anniversary Rivalry Week Celebration will begin with planned events on Tuesday, October 15th and culminate on Saturday, October 19th with a special fund raising event at the newly renovated Depew Boys and Girls Club. On Saturday October 19th at 11am we will be hosting a Rivalry Week 5K Run at Depew High School.

A portion of the proceeds will go to support the construction of a basketball court in Westwood Park honoring Manda Macaluso and Mikaela Gwitt.

START/FINISH
The race will start and finish at Depew High School and race organizers are working on the final course design (View Proposed Course) that will be posted here in the coming weeks.

REGISTRATION & PACKET PICKUP
Online registration will remain open right up until the start of the race. Race day registration and packet pickup will take place at the High School from 9:30 am right up until the start of the race at 11:00 am.

*Race shirts guaranteed to everyone who registers by 10/12/19. Extra shirts (if any) will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis until they are gone.

POST RACE CELEBRATION

Join us after the race for a post race celebration including our "World Famous" Depew bagels, fruit, snacks, beverages and the awards ceremony!

AGE GROUPS & AWARDS
Awards will be presented to the 1st place overall male and female finishers. Age group medals will be presented to the top 3 male and female runners in each of the following age groups*

14 and under,15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and older.

PARKING

There is plenty of free parking at Depew High School. Participants can also park at Cayuga Heights.

TIMING & FINISH LINE SERVICES
Gun start/chip finish timing services using industry leading Jaguar Electronic RFID timing will be provided by Race Management Solutions. Results are updated throughout the race in real time and can be accessed at any time after crossing the finish line using any one of the following options:
